As the snow starts to melt there is another hobby that most mountain-folk get excited for... Mushrooming! In particular, finding morels is one of the more challenging and rewarding things that I like to do between scouting for spring bear. Starting at the lower elevations and working their way up, these mushrooms tend to collect at the base of aspen and willow groves. They also tend to pop up in large numbers near areas that have had forrest fires in the past few years... one of which you can see below that I plan to hit during the next few weeks...
